The easiest way to view a Side by Side image with vorpX is to use one of the Supported Media Players like MPC-HC or VLC.Simply run one of those players with VorpX.You also can use any VR Media Player to view 3D images with your VR Headset (without VorpX).
Another (older) method (not recommended anymore) is using
STEREO PHOTO MAKER.
I have tested a few other tools like MPC-HC or Sview for example but all of them have their own disadvantages like sview doesnt allow headtracking
which can be quite annoing.
Stereo Photo Maker is a free software that, besides viewing stereo images, can create or alter images, but thats not the issue here.
The software is availiable in different languages and no installation is required. Just put the program in a folder of your choice and run it.
For VorpX we have a profile in the vorpX cloud, i described the use of it in the forum
earlier but to make it easier just grab the settings file
here. (rightclick->save as). By clicking on the saved file you add some predefined settings to your wondows registry so you dont have to bother with it any futher.
- Load VorpX stereo maker profile
- run stereo maker
- select stereo image jpg jps png ect.
- press F8
- press enter once
- zoom in and out with mouse
- pan around in zoomed image with mouse
- take screenshot with SteamVR (for htc vive thats "system+trigger" button
Hints: after pressing F8 the software (thats the only snag because the software was not written to deal with vorpX, but hey it works !) , you must press enter once to get rif of a message telling something
about quad buffering not availiable. After that you can use hotkeys and mouse as usual.
Whirligig, the free version can also let you view SBS images in VR (no vorpx required) |
